I don't normally wear makeup. Silly no? I'm a stay at home mama now and really I am not afforded the luxury of time. However, I recently was able to sneak away when the hubby was home and try out some new things!
If you're following me on instagram (@terenahyma), you'll know of dress your face. Tamanna puts together these fabulous looks so quickly and I've been totally inspired to try some of her techniques!
It was such a treat to play with new techniques to contour and blend.
First I applied MAC Matchmaster foundations in 1 & 1.5 with a beauty blender and followed with some hilighting and contouring using my Cinema Secrets palette.
A mixture of MAC mineralize powders in light and medium were then used to set the hilight and I used MAC Studiofix in NW35 to set the contour. Blush was a combo of Peaches and Pink Swoon, both by MAC.
I absolutely have fallen in love with the Urban Decay Eye Potion primer. It totally locks down colour and is easy to blend product into before drying. Black and taupe shadows were used to contour the eye, followed by a beautiful pigment. It's a light champagne colour and I can't remember the name!!
Urban Decay also makes a wicked black shadow that is so deep and rich and black, it's the perfect thing to set gel liner with on the waterline and to intensify smokiness.
For my brows I used a mix of MAC Fling eye brow pencil and omega shadow. I finished off with my new Younique mascara. No time to slap on some lashes, the kids came barging in!!
I managed to get something on my lips. I totally cheated and used an eyeliner as my lip pencil. Sometimes the colour is right! (As long as the product is cleaned well!) I started off trying for a pinky peach and well I got a nice rose instead. I generally tend to match my lip and blush colours unless there's a specific look that is in mind.
Thanks to Tamanna @dressyourface and Dressyourfacelive.com for the inspiration!!
