Actors, business professionals, real estate agents, and anyone who markets themselves as part of their brand will at one point need to have a headshot done. There are many different kinds of headshots, and I'm going to touch on two of the more popular below.
The Glamour Headshot
Remember Glamour Shots? Yup. Pasted on makeup, shellacked hair; a few of us 80's babies will recall that this was the thing back then. And it exists in different forms today too. Enter the glamour headshot. These are photos that are taken by ladies looking to enter beauty pageants, fitness competitions, or actresses. It takes your natural features and enhances them, but with more drama and facial correction. No plastic surgery, just some hilighting, contouring, and extra eye makeup. It's more of a special occasion makeup, as opposed to the next example.
The Natural Headshot
This type of headshot is preferred by models as it shows the face almost untouched and as natura as possible. It allows for an almost blank canvas to be seen. Minimal makeup is present here, and minimal corrective technique as well. Natural colours to enhance the complexion and sheer soft coverage in foundation are preferred.
The Business Headshot
This is almost a mix of the two examples above. There is a natural effect to the skin, and colours are chosen as to enhance and heighten the features. Minimal corrective techniques are used, as a trustworthy and approachable result is desired.
